Data deletion: step-by-step instructions
CHESTER WATCH FACES (“we”, “us”) operates the website chesterwf.com, the Chester Watch Faces Android app (Google Play: com.my.chesterwf), and the Wear OS companion app.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we use it, how long we keep it, and what choices you have. By using our website or apps, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Our services
We provide:
- a catalog of watch faces for Wear OS;
- an optional email newsletter about new releases and promotions;
- an optional account (email and password or Google Sign-In) to manage a Google Play Premium subscription and install watch faces directly on your watch;
- optional push notifications about new watch faces and sales (only if you allow notifications in the app);
- links to third-party stores (Google Play, Watch Apps, Facer, and others).
Payments: Premium subscriptions are billed by Google Play. We never receive your full payment card number.
2. Data you give us directly
Email address
- When you subscribe to the newsletter, request a coupon, register an account, or contact us.
- Used to send newsletters, coupons, account messages, and replies to your requests.
Password
- When you create an account with email and password (optional).
- Stored only as a secure hash. We cannot read your password.
Name
- Optional at registration or taken from your Google profile if you sign in with Google.
- Shown in your account area.
Google account identifier
- When you sign in with Google.
- Used to authenticate you and link your account.
Contact form
- Name, email, phone (optional), company (optional), subject, and message when you use the contact form on the website.
All of the above is voluntary, except where a feature requires an account (for example, Premium install in our app). You can browse the public catalog without signing in.
3. Data collected automatically
When you use our website or apps, we may process:
Account and subscription
- Internal customer ID.
- Google Play subscription status: product ID, expiry date, and purchase token (not your card details).
- Subscription event history (for example, activation or renewal).
Push notifications
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token.
- Your notification preferences (new releases, sales).
- App language for localized messages.
Watch face installs
- Install ID, watch face identifier, install status, and error details if installation fails.
- Wear OS version and device SDK version on phone and watch (for compatibility and support).
Website analytics
- Anonymous visitor ID (random identifier in your browser).
- Pages you view and approximate country (from network headers or a geo lookup service).
- We use this only for aggregate traffic statistics, not for advertising profiles.
Technical logs
- IP address, request time, and browser or app user agent.
- Used for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
Marketing link statistics
- Emails, push messages, and Telegram posts may contain signed links.
- We count aggregate clicks (for example, how many people opened a watch face page). We do not sell this data or build cross-site ad profiles.
Browsing the catalog without an account does not require personal data, but standard server logs may still be created.
4. Cookies and browser storage
On chesterwf.com we use first-party browser storage for:
- Cookie consent — your choice in the banner (“accept” or “essential only”), stored in
localStorage; - Anonymous visitor ID — a random ID in
localStorageor a first-party cookie so repeat visits can be counted without login; - Language preference — your selected site locale.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Visit counting on public pages works independently of the cookie banner toggle (see §3).
5. Wear OS companion app
When you pair a Wear OS watch with our phone app:
- An authentication token may be sent to the watch through Google’s Wearable Data Layer so the companion can call our API.
- Watch face packages (WFF) are transferred from phone to watch when you request an install.
- The watch app may open Google Play on your phone (for example, to install the phone app) using Google’s remote activity APIs.
- Watch faces you install may display health or fitness data (steps, heart rate, and similar) as provided by Wear OS and your device sensors. Our servers do not receive raw health sensor data for the install feature.
6. How we use your data
We use collected data to:
- operate the website, catalog, and apps;
- create and manage your account;
- verify Premium subscriptions and deliver watch face installs;
- send newsletters, coupons, and push notifications you requested;
- answer contact form messages;
- measure site traffic in aggregate;
- maintain security and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar regions)
Where applicable, we process data based on:
- Contract — providing Premium, subscription checks, and installs you request;
- Consent — newsletter, push notifications, and optional cookies on the website;
- Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, anonymous statistics, and service improvement.
You may withdraw marketing consent at any time via unsubscribe links, app settings, or by emailing us.
8. Third-party services
We work with trusted providers that process data under their own policies. We share only what is necessary:
- Google Play — subscription billing and payment;
- Google Sign-In — optional authentication;
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — push notification delivery;
- Google Wearable APIs — sync between phone and watch;
- Hosting and email providers — website hosting and transactional email;
- Cloudflare / geo lookup (e.g. ipwho.is) — approximate country for anonymous visit statistics when edge headers are unavailable;
- Cloudflare Turnstile — spam protection on the contact form.
We do not sell data to these or any other third parties.
9. How long we keep data
- Newsletter subscription — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Account — until you delete it or send a deletion request.
- Premium and purchase records — as long as needed to provide the service and meet tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations, then deleted or anonymized.
- FCM tokens — until the app unregisters them or you uninstall the app.
- Website visit events — typically up to 120 days, then deleted automatically.
- Install records — as long as needed for the service, support, and abuse prevention.
- Server logs — typically up to 90 days; longer only during an active security investigation.
- Contact form messages — as long as needed to handle your request and for legitimate business records.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise these rights, email support@chesterwf.com. We may ask you to verify your identity.
You can also:
- unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email;
- turn off push notifications in Android settings;
- cancel Premium in the Google Play app under Subscriptions;
- uninstall the app to stop further data collection by the app;
- request full deletion of your data — see §11 below.
11. Request deletion of your data
This section applies to the Chester Watch Faces Android app, the Wear OS companion, and the website chesterwf.com, operated by CHESTER WATCH FACES.

How to submit a request
- Email support@chesterwf.com with the subject “Data deletion request”.
- Tell us:
- the email address linked to your account or newsletter;
- whether you used Google Sign-In or bought Premium via Google Play (include your Google account email if it differs);
- what you want deleted (account, newsletter, push registration, install history, and so on).
- We may ask you to confirm your identity to protect your data.
- After verification, we respond within 30 days (often sooner) and explain what was deleted or what we must keep by law.
What we delete
- Account data — email, name, password hash, and Google identifier are removed from our systems.
- Newsletter subscription — removed; marketing emails stop.
- Push notifications — FCM token and your preferences are removed.
- Watch face install history — deleted or anonymized when linked to your account.
- Anonymous website visitor ID — removed if you include it in your request and we can match it.
What we may keep
- Premium subscription and purchase records — for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and Google Play requirements. Up to 7 years where the law requires.
- Aggregated statistics — summary data that no longer identifies you.
- Server security logs — up to 90 days; longer only during an active security investigation.
Limit data without a full deletion request
- Newsletter — click Unsubscribe in any email.
- Push — turn off notifications in Android settings or uninstall the app.
- Premium — cancel in the Google Play app under Subscriptions.
These steps stop new data collection but may not erase records already stored. For full deletion of personal data, use the email steps above.
12. Children
Our services are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data.
13. Security
We use HTTPS for website and API traffic. Passwords are stored hashed. Access to production systems is limited. No internet transmission is completely secure; we take reasonable measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. International transfers
Our servers may be located outside your country. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
